Instead of one, as the prompt requested, I actually have two people with one same name. Yep, there are these two people who have names similar to stars, and they’re like the soft, dim stars that stay in my universe. I’m gonna call them Star R-10 and Star C-12. Let’s name them like real stars.
I met Star R-10 in kindergarten, before we knew anything about life. She was one of the smallest kids in the class, but her parents loved her sooooo much! They always came to school to feed her. In junior high, we moved to another school, together. As two introverted kids who were about the same size, I found it funny that we sat at the same table far in the back corner of the classroom. But, no one dared to touch me or our seat. So we could watch the kids playing in the back as our entertainment, without getting involved when the teacher scolded them.
Then we met Star C-12 in high school, she was an alum of that school’s primary level. So, she knew the people, the culture, and some bits and bobs about the school. NGL, she looked like a bright student, literally a star. I actually knew or her through a friend in Sunday School. Then, we finally got to sit together after our teacher reshuffled the seating. I never regretted getting separated from Star R-10, because we both got along with our new friends.
The three of us played basketball a lot, got tanned, I learned how to ride a motorcycle, and went to the same tutoring place for years. I also made a lot of crafts and projects with Star C-12 until this one auntie thought we were twins because were always together and looked almost alike. With Star R-10, TBH I can barely remember stuff other than playing basketball and going to the same tutoring place, because I thought she had her own fun gang—apparently she was in hell. I’m sorry, bestie.
Looking back, I think I’d say that my junior high school years were the best part of my K-12 days. Maybe it was because I had two stars in it. Pun intended. In senior high school, Star R-10 moved to a new house that’s a bit far from our neighborhood, while Star C-12 moved to a better school. I still have some other good friends to share laughs and stories with, but it’s just different.
Thankfully, Star R-10 was back in our second year of senior high. She was in social studies, while I was in science, but that’s still better than no stars at all, innit?

Fast forward to a decade later. Unexpectedly, we’re still friends, even closer than ever. Maybe I can say that these two are the ones I still hang with a lot. Really, a lot more than I ever thought. I stayed in Star R-10‘s house, like, more than a hundred times. We’re so inseparable that her big family knows me and I know most of her family lore, who’s doing this, who’s providing that, “Oh this is what she looks like“, and “Yeah I don’t like him either“.
With Star C-12, we still share the same braincell. It’s just that her half went into science, while mine mutated to social studies. We’re still into doing little adventures like we did in high school, but instead of literally stalking someone back to his home, we chose to use our problem-solving skills for other things, like discussing creative ideas. By discussing, I mean sitting in a cafe from opening to closing, we really invested our money in the cafe we visited, from breakfast to dinner. Or doing something normal like going on a thrifting spree.

Fun fact, I wrote this post 2 days late. But in my defense, it’s actually rather lovely to say that it was because I was out there living the moments with them. This week, I met two of them separately, one to talk and discuss fun content ideas, and one to work on a creative project involving photography. I’m happy that, despite our different lives, they still rely on me when it comes to creative things, while in fact, they’re actually the more creative ones when it comes to crafts.
So, dear Star R-10 and Star C-12, if you read this, we won’t always orbit each other’s lives because we’re not planets, but as stars on a grand cosmic scale, we’re made of the exact same dust. To my two stars, our universes might change form, but I hope my gravity will always belong to both of you. ⭐️⭐️
