DAY 20: My Celebrity Crush

If you asked me this in 2021, my answer would be Timothée Chalamet. Let me humblebrag a little here, because it’s kinda weird how far I went just to see his work. So, I’ve known him from Call Me by Your Name (2017), then I watched his other films, like Spinners (2014), Miss Stevens (2016), Hot Summer Nights (2017), Lady Bird (2017), Beautiful Boy (2018), Little Women (2019), The King (2019), The French Dispatch (2021), Don’t Look Up (2021), Wonka (2023), Dune: Part Two (of course), A Complete Unknown (2025), and Marty Supreme (2026)—I even rewatched Interstellar (2013) to see him again. Dang, I’m a bit shocked while writing this paragraph and see how many films I’ve watched that he starred in.

But if I can be honest, Timothée in Dune (2021) hits really different that I instantly got a huge crush on him. He showed the range of a character could give an actor. The face that usually radiates softness can turn into a dark, manipulative leader and so-called messiah who uses his people for his own benefit… while the face card still works.

I’ve dug so deep that I found his YouTube channel selling modded Xbox controllers and him dancing to Soulja Boy song. Every once in a while, I also watch his Lil Timmy Tim’s Statistics video that he made in 2013, where it’s obvious that he was rapping about… statistics. It’s a funny jam you should listen to, go have it here:

I’m still a bit shocked by how many things I have researched about this Lil Timmy Tim guy, maybe that’s what counts as a celebrity crush?

IDK for sure, because Josh O’Connor was the name that popped up in my mind when I think of my celebrity crush these days. His accent, voice, awkward smile, witty behavior, basically everything. He could literally be doing something mundane or talking about something boring for hours, and I’d still happily sit and look at him, yet he’d still be unreadable. Wake Up Dead Man (2025) has woken up the part of me that I didn’t know existed.

P.S. And if Josh ever reads this article, please don’t take any of this personally. I might literally flee.
